The subject of Iranian Islands in the Persian Gulf is neither up for debate nor negotiable!

In 1928, Reza Shah the Great, the founder of the Pahlavi Dynasty in Iran, reaffirmed Iran’s legal and rightful claim over the Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa Islands in the Persian Gulf, countering Britain’s colonial backing of the Qasimi Shaykhs who had arbitrarily claimed ownership of these islands.
The British colonial support for the Qasimi Shaykhs mirrored its backing of Shaykh Khaz’al, whose objective was to detach the oil-rich province of Khuzestan from Iranian territory and control. This situation was effectively addressed by Reza Shah the Great, resulting in negative consequences for both Britain and the separatist movement it championed in Iran.

Nonetheless, the past seems to echo again, but this time with the European Union supporting the “Gulf Cooperation Council” in their claim to these islands.
The European Union, capitalising on its profitable trade with the fragmented Islamic Republic, views this situation as another way to enhance its influence across both sides of the Persian Gulf. The reality is that the EU lacks the authority to meddle in matters that do not pertain to them. The sovereignty of Iran and its lands, including the Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa Islands, is an unequivocal matter for the Iranian people, and it stands firm without room for discussion.
